Sample Sync BOD XMLs

Business Object Documents or BODs are the preferred type of interface between two ERP applications. Infor uses standardized canonical model from Open Application Group (OAGIS). BODs are in universal readable format.

Infor applications mostly use the Standard BOD XMLs.

XML (Extensible Markup Language) is a markup language similar to HTML, but without predefined tags to use. Instead, user-defined tags are designed specifically for their needs.

ION Connect establishes connection between applications which can either be Infor application or third-party applications.

Standard XML BOD Representation

Naming convention of a standard BOD is VERB+NOUN
Verb communication the event of “Action” eg. SYNC, PROCESS, GET, ACKNOWLEDGE, SHOW, CONFIRM etc. whereas a noun defines the name of document.

Sample BOD names: SyncAccountingChart.xml, SyncAssetMaster.xml, SyncBillOfMaterials.xml, etc.

A standard BOD contains an Application Area and a Data Area.
- Application Area contains the sender details and BOD creation details whereas - Data Area contains the VERB and other relevant details.
